This guide explains how to use the Contact Insights dashboard in Bridgo to understand your contact base, subscription status, customer segments, contact sources, gender distribution, and recent agent comments.
⏱️ Average time: 3-5 minutes
👤 Who is this guide for: Admins, support managers, marketing users, and teams managing WhatsApp contacts
📌 What Is the Contact Insights Dashboard? #
The Contact Insights dashboard gives you a visual summary of your WhatsApp contacts and how they are organized inside Bridgo.
It helps you monitor:
- Total contacts
- Subscribed contacts
- Unsubscribed contacts
- Blocked contacts
- Total agent comments
- New contacts in the selected date range
- Contacts by group and label
- Contacts by type
- Gender distribution
- Contact source distribution
- Recent agent comments
To open it:
➡️ Go to Dashboards → Contact Insights
⚠️ Note: This dashboard is available only on supported subscription plans. If your plan does not include dashboards, Bridgo will ask you to upgrade.
📅 Step 1: Select a Date Range #
At the top-right of the dashboard, you can choose the reporting period.
Available quick date options include:
- Today
- Yesterday
- Last 7 days
- Last 28 days
- Last 90 days
- This month
- Last month
You can also use the manual date fields:
- Start Date
- End Date
The selected date range affects the summary metrics such as New Contacts and other date-based contact activity.
If the selected end date is today, the dashboard auto-refreshes every 5 minutes.
🔄 Step 2: Refresh the Dashboard #
Click the refresh button to reload the latest contact analytics.
The refresh updates:
- KPI cards
- Contacts by Group & Label chart
- Contacts by Type chart
- Gender Distribution chart
- Contact Source Distribution chart
- Recent Agent Comments table
Use refresh after importing contacts, updating contact labels, changing groups, or adding agent comments.
🧮 Step 3: Review Contact KPI Cards #
The top KPI row gives a quick overview of your contact database.
Total Contacts #
Shows the total number of contacts in your Bridgo account.
Use this to understand the full size of your WhatsApp contact base.
Subscribed #
Shows contacts currently subscribed to receive messages.
These contacts are generally eligible for future communication, depending on WhatsApp policy and your business rules.
Unsubscribed #
Shows contacts who opted out or were marked as unsubscribed.
⚠️ Important: Avoid sending promotional broadcasts to unsubscribed contacts.
Blocked Contacts #
Shows contacts that are blocked.
Blocked contacts should not receive normal communication.
Total Comments #
Shows the total number of comments or notes added by agents.
Use this to understand how much internal follow-up activity is happening on contact records.
New (Selected Range) #
Shows how many contacts were created during the selected date range.
Use this metric to measure contact growth from campaigns, integrations, imports, CTWA, organic conversations, or manual entry.
🧩 Step 4: Review Contacts by Group & Label #
The Contacts by Group & Label chart shows contacts grouped by contact group and stacked by contact label.
This helps you understand how your contact database is organized.
Use this chart to answer questions such as:
- Which groups contain the most contacts?
- Which labels are most common inside each group?
- Are important segments growing?
- Are contacts being assigned to the correct groups?
- Do some groups need cleanup?
Examples of groups may include:
- Leads
- Students
- Customers
- VIP Customers
- Branch-based groups
- Campaign groups
Examples of labels may include:
- New Lead
- Active Customer
- Parent
- Student
- Prospect
- Unqualified
🏷️ Step 5: Review Contacts by Type #
The Contacts by Type chart shows the distribution of contact labels or customer types.
Use this chart to understand your contact mix.
For example, it can help you see whether most contacts are:
- Leads
- Customers
- Students
- Parents
- Prospects
- Existing clients
- Other custom contact labels
If one type is much larger than expected, review your contact import, automation rules, or default contact assignment settings.
🚻 Step 6: Review Gender Distribution #
The Gender Distribution chart shows contacts by gender.
It compares:
- Male
- Female
Use this chart when your business uses gender-based segmentation, reporting, or audience filtering.
If many contacts are missing gender data, consider updating contacts manually, through imports, or through chatbot/flow collection.
🌐 Step 7: Review Contact Source Distribution #
The Contact Source Distribution chart shows where contacts came from.
Contact sources may include:
- Manual entry
- Import
- API
- CTWA
- Organic WhatsApp engagement
- WooCommerce
- Zapier
- Other integrations or custom sources
Use this chart to understand which acquisition channels are creating the most contacts.
For example:
- If CTWA is high, Click-to-WhatsApp ads are generating many contacts.
- If API or integration sources are high, external systems are creating contacts automatically.
- If manual entry is high, your team is adding contacts directly.
📝 Step 8: Review Recent Agent Comments #
The Recent Agent Comments table shows the latest 20 agent notes and interactions.
The table includes:
- Agent photo
- Agent name
- Contact name
- Contact type
- Comment
- Date created
Use this section to monitor recent team activity and customer follow-up notes.
Agent comments help teams understand:
- What happened with a contact
- Which agent added the note
- When the note was created
- What follow-up may be needed
If the agent name is System Comment, the note was created by Bridgo/system activity instead of a normal agent.
🧭 Step 9: Use Contact Insights With Other Pages #
Contact Insights gives a high-level view of contact health and segmentation.
For deeper action, use it together with:
- Contact List: To view, edit, filter, and manage individual contacts.
- Contact Groups: To organize contacts into targetable groups.
- Contact Labels: To classify contacts by type or segment.
- Broadcast Campaigns: To target selected groups, labels, gender, or language.
- Conversation Log: To review message history for specific contacts.
