Bridgo – WhatsApp Business Cloud API Onboarding Guide

This guide will help you create your Bridgo account and connect your WhatsApp Business number using Meta’s official WhatsApp Business Cloud API.

Prerequisites (Important – Read Before You Start)

Before starting the setup, please ensure you have the following:

  1. A phone number that is NOT connected to the WhatsApp Mobile App
    • The number must not be active on WhatsApp mobile.
    • If it is already used, it must be deleted from the WhatsApp app first.
  2. A registered and verified Meta Business Account
    • The business must be verified inside Meta Business Manager.
  3. A website URL and Privacy Policy link
    • Required by Meta to approve your WhatsApp Business App.
  4. A valid payment method
    • A credit or debit card has been added to your Meta Business Manager.
    • Required for WhatsApp message billing.

Once all the above are ready, you can proceed with the integration.

For best results, complete the setup in one session and keep Meta and Bridgo tabs open side-by-side.

Step 1: Create a New Bridgo Account (Sign Up)

  1. Open the Bridgo portal:
    https://portal.digitalbridgeapps.com/
  2. Click Sign Up
  3. Fill in the following details:
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Email Address
    • Mobile Number
    • Company Name
    • Password
  4. Click Create Account

Your Bridgo account will be created instantly.

Step 2: Verify Your Email Address

After signing up:

  1. Check your email inbox
  2. Open the email sent from Bridgo
  3. Click the Verify Email link

If you did not receive the email:

  • Confirm you entered the correct email address
  • Check your Spam / Junk folder
  • Click Resend Verification
  • Or update your email address on the verification screen

Once verified, your account will be activated automatically.

Step 3: Account Configuration (Inside Bridgo)

After email verification, you will be redirected to Account Configuration.

On this page, Bridgo automatically generates:

  • Webhook Callback URL
  • Verify Token

You will also see fields to enter:

  • Phone Number ID
  • WhatsApp Business Account ID
  • Meta App Secret
  • Permanent Access Token

⚠️ If you already have these details, you can enter them now and proceed to Step 5. If not, continue with Step 4 to create them in Meta.

Step 4: WhatsApp Cloud API Setup (Meta Portal)

4.1 Create a Meta App

  1. Go to Meta Developers:
    https://developers.facebook.com/apps/
  2. Click Create App
  3. Enter the App details (name, email)
  4. Select Use case: Other
  5. Choose App Type: Business
  6. Review the details and click Go to Dashboard

Your Meta App is now created.

4.2 Add a WhatsApp Phone Number

  1. From the Meta App dashboard, go to WhatsApp → API Setup
  2. Click Add Phone Number
  3. Select your country code and enter the phone number
  4. Choose verification method:
    • SMS or Phone Call
  5. Enter the verification code sent by Meta

Once verified, copy the following values:

  • Phone Number ID
  • WhatsApp Business Account ID

Paste both values into the matching fields in Bridgo.

4.3 Configure App Settings & App Secret

  1. In the Meta App dashboard, go to App Settings → Basic
  2. Fill in:
    • Privacy Policy URL
    • App contact email
    • Other required business details
  3. Copy the App Secret
  4. Paste the App Secret into Bridgo
  5. Publish the App and make sure the App Type is Business and App Mode is Live.

⚠️ Important Note
Entering an incorrect App Secret will prevent Bridgo from receiving messages and webhook events from Meta. Please double-check this value carefully.

4.4 Generate Permanent Access Token

  1. Open Meta Business Settings:
    👉 https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings
  2. Go to System Users
  3. Click Add
  4. Enter a system username
  5. Select Role: Admin
  6. Click Create System User
  7. Assign the created Meta App above in the “Assets” with Full Control.
  8. Click on “Generate Token” for the created system user.
  9. Select the App
  10. Set token expiration to Never
  11. Select permissions:
    • whatsapp_business_messaging
    • whatsapp_business_management
    • whatsapp_business_manage_events (optional)
  1. Click Generate Token
  2. Copy the token and paste it into Bridgo

Step 5: Configure Webhook in Meta

Go to Meta Developers → Your App → WhatsApp → Configuration

  1. Paste the Callback URL from Bridgo
  2. Paste the Verify Token from Bridgo
  3. Click Verify and Save

Subscribe to all webhook events:

  • Message events
  • Account updates
  • Template updates
  • Status updates

All toggles must show Subscribed with version v24.0 selected.

Step 6: Validate & Link WhatsApp in Bridgo

Return to the Bridgo portal:

  1. Select your Time Zone
  2. Click Validate and Link

Congratulations!
Your WhatsApp Business number is now successfully connected to Bridgo.
